What Optics provides

Optics provides headline-framing analysis, source spread, confidence labels, and links back to original publishers.

What Optics does not provide

• Optics is not a fact-checker.
• Wording Gap measures headline framing, not factual correctness.
• Bias labels are outlet-level context, not a ruling on any single article.

Third-party content

Publisher headlines, excerpts, images, and articles remain the property of their respective publishers. Optics links users to original source pages.

Subscriptions

Optics offers separate web and iOS subscription surfaces during open beta. Web memberships (founding-member tier) are billed through our web billing provider and managed from your Optics account. The iOS app subscription is billed through Apple and managed in Apple ID settings. Web and iOS billing are not currently linked; one subscription does not grant access on the other surface. We plan to unify the two billing surfaces after the iOS app brand and pricing are renamed; until that ships, pick whichever surface fits your reading habits.

The Daily Different Spin email is free. Cancel any paid plan at any time from the billing portal on its respective surface. No partial-month refunds; renewal stops at the end of the current period.

Report bad story matches, source-label disputes, or misleading Wording Gaps to corrections@optics.news.
